November 2nd, 1928
The latest
attempt on the Don’s life has
left him very weak - the doc gives him about a week to live. Naturally
he’s seeking a worthy replacement to head the family so it’s
up to his Captains to prove themselves before his departure.
As one of these Captains, you’ll
need to gain enough money and notoriety to fill his shoes. Let's take
a closer look at what you need to be familiar with to make that happen!

If you wanna keep up
with the times you need to hire the right crew. Not only will they be
able to protect your investments, they can even help you extort someone
else's! Here are the five different types of characters you'll come across
in Mob City.
ENFORCER CARDS (WEAPONS)
To keep your crew healthy, but not your enemies,
you're gonna need a little extra something. Here are the four different
types of weapons your crew can arm themselves with in Mob City.
WHISKEY CARDS
If you wanna make the big bucks you've
got to open yourself a good 'ol Speakeasy. It may cost a little more
to get the finer malts, but heck, they'll certain fill your pockets
a whole lot more! With 3 whiskey qualities to be had, the better
the value the harder it is to come by.
LAST WILL & TESTAMENT CARDS
Crafty as always, the Don's not letting
anyone know who will be the one to fill his shoes. It's up to you to
choose which strategy to follow. Then again, why not attempt to get the
highest notoriety AND highest amount of dough!
IN FAVOUR CARD
There's always one, isn't there! Lucky
you! If you're in favour with the Don you've got the advantage of being
first!
POLICE CARD
It's not always enough to have a great
crew. Sometimes you just need the law to look the
other way and leave you alone.
EVENTS CARDS
There's always something new happening
in Mob City. If you know what's event's about to happen then you can
be sure to make it work in your favour. There are 12 different events
that can take place. Extortion crackdowns can occur
on any side of Mob City as can Speakeasy raids and Whiskey consumption
can go up or down.

RULES
We try our best to
make the included rules as clear as possible but on occasion there
may be a dispute. Our recommendation is this; if it's not mentioned
in the rules then you can't do it.

INCOME
Collecting your building and/or
speakeasy income is the last thing you do during the District resolving
phase. Any extortion that needs to be
paid will come from your income - of course if you don't have any incoe
then there's no extortion to pay ;)
MOLLS
What happens if you have 2 Molls
in one crew that is either extorting or protecting a speakeasy?
If you have 2 Molls in the same group, the crew's income is still DOUBLE,
it doesn't quadruple.
SELLING BUILDINGS
Selling buildings? Who'd want to
buy 'em after you owned 'em!
Variant played at Settlers Cafe in Singapore. Top up cash to upgrade a smaller
building to a bigger one as notoriety and cash values still equate perfectly.
NOTORIETY
Notoriety can never fall below 1.
If you own any buildings, your notoriety can never fall below the combined
value of your buildings.
Hence, if you have a small shop and you lose a shootout, you're notoriety will
remain 1. Or, if you have a small shop speakeasy and you can't pay the Police
Raid Fine, you lose your shop but still remain with 1 notoriety.
You should always check that your notoriety is not less than the combined value
of your buildings - even if you loose alot of shootouts, your notoriety should
at the least be the same value.
A point was brought up during a recent Sneak Peek in Singapore in regards to
playing with the 'selling buildings' idea.
..The following is only in regards to having a notoriety of 1...
You sell your building, your notoriety still stays at 1, you upgrade to a big
shop, so your notoriety shld increase +2 to 3. This is not the case, If you
really insist on playing the 'selling' idea, your notoriety would become whatever
building value you upgrade to.
